Give Tilburg one night, two at most: the textile museums, De Pont and the Heuvel cafés fill a day, and Efteling or the Beekse Bergen Safari Park take the next.
Tilburg is the Netherlands' former wool city: 215,000 people, a compact centre around the Heuvel and Oude Markt, and a museum pair — De Pont for modern art, the TextielMuseum for the looms that built the place — that justifies a stop between Breda and Eindhoven. It is not a pretty canal town; the 1960s cleared much of the old fabric, and the draw is industrial heritage, a strong concert venue at 013, and the theme parks and nature reserves on its edge.

Getting around
The centre is walkable: station to Heuvel is about 10 minutes on foot. City buses (Arriva, under the Bravo brand) cover the outer districts and run roughly 06:00–00:00, with some night buses. A bike is the fastest option for the TextielMuseum and the university side; rental shops are near the station. Taxis queue at the station and are metered.
