Scituate is a small South Shore seacoast town about 30 miles south of Boston, built around Scituate Harbor and its compact Front Street strip of shops and restaurants. The 1810 Scituate Lighthouse on Cedar Point is the main sight, with five public beaches and a handful of historic buildings run by the Scituate Historical Society. Most visitors come for a half-day or a single night; a car opens up the beaches and the villages of North Scituate and Humarock.

Getting around
Scituate Harbor is compact and walkable along Front Street from the Satuit Brook bridge to Beaver Dam Road, with a municipal parking lot behind the main strip. Beaches are a 10–15 min walk from the harbor. Outside the harbor you need a car; roads are quiet enough for bikes and there is a scenic path along much of the Driftway. MBTA Greenbush commuter rail stops at North Scituate and Greenbush.
