Findlay is a small northwest Ohio city of about 39,000 people, seat of Hancock County and home to the University of Findlay. It grew on an 1880s natural-gas boom, which left a dense stock of Victorian buildings downtown and around the university. Most visitors pass through on I-75 between Toledo and Dayton; the city works as a one-night stop or a half-day detour, not a destination week.

Getting around
A car is the practical choice: I-75 runs along the west side and downtown parking is easy outside the core. HATS runs a weekday shuttle with limited hours and pre-arranged county trips. Downtown and the university campus are walkable; the outskirts often have no sidewalk, and biking is possible but traffic does not yield much.
