Jackson is the seat of Jackson County in southeast Ohio, a small town on the US-35 and OH-32 corridors about 1.5 h from Columbus and 1 h from Athens. Travellers use it as a cheap bed and a base for Lake Katharine, Leo Petroglyph and the county's covered bridges, not as a destination in itself. One night covers the town; two nights if you want the lakes and the Oak Hill furnace sites.
