Durmitor National Park protects the Durmitor massif and the Tara River Canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1980. The park offers hiking from easy lake loops to the 2,523 m Bobotov Kuk summit, rafting in the 1,000 m deep Tara Canyon, and winter sports around Žabljak. It is the main mountain destination in Montenegro, reached by car from Podgorica in about 2 hours.
