Getting around

You need a car. Bellville has no public transit and the sights sit 5–20 min apart on State Routes 97 and 13. Two I-71 exits serve the village: exit 165 at SR 97 and exit 169 at SR 13. The Richland B&O Trail is a paved rail-trail for bikes and walking, running north to Lexington and Mansfield and south to Butler.

A quiet small-town area; the genuine risks are highway ice in winter, deer on the back roads at dusk and long unlit stretches between the village and Malabar Farm. Violent crime is rare.
  • No public transport: without a car you are limited to the Route 97 strip.
  • Winter ice on I-71 and SR 97 is the real hazard; lake-effect snow can close the highway.
  • Malabar Farm's Big House runs on guided tours with limited hours — check before driving out.
  • Cell coverage is fine in the village but patchy on the back roads toward Lucas.
