Candelaria is a small river town in the Campeche jungle, a designated Pueblo Mágico and a full-service stop on the Tren Maya between Campeche and Palenque. Travellers come for the El Tigre archaeological site, the Río Candelaria and the surrounding forest, not for the town itself. One or two nights covers it; the plaza is plain and the heat is real.
