Baruun-Urt is a small provincial capital on the eastern steppe. With a single daily bus from Ulaanbaatar and one flight, its main sights – a Buddhist monastery, provincial museum and a town viewpoint – can be visited in a half‑day, making a one‑day stop sufficient.
