Give Orillia one night, two if you want a lake day: it is a waterfront stop between Barrie and Muskoka, not a destination on its own.
Orillia sits between Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching, 35 km northeast of Barrie and about 1 h 30 min by car from Toronto on Highway 11. It works as a half-way stop on the way to Muskoka or Algonquin, with a walkable downtown, a lakeside park and two small museums. One night covers the town; two nights only if you are boating, fishing or using it as a base for Casino Rama.
