Greenwood is a 1-hour stop on a River Valley road trip: walk the square, see the view from Bell Park, then move on. Not a base.
Greenwood is a small town in Arkansas's River Valley, 15 minutes south of Fort Smith. Its old-fashioned town square, Bell Park overlook and the Coal Miner's Memorial are the main draws. Most travellers pass through on US 71 and spend less than half a day here. The River Valley Fair in late September adds an evening of entertainment.
