Mahishadal and Geonkhali are a pair of small settlements in Southwest Bengal, 5 km apart. Mahishadal offers a historic Rajbari palace, while Geonkhali sits at the meeting of three rivers. Both are reachable by suburban train from Howrah/Kharagpur and by road from Kolkata, Haldia or Tamluk. A single day covers the main sights; an extra night is optional for a relaxed stay in a state‑run lodge.
