Dhamrai Upazila, 40 km northwest of Dhaka, is a quiet rural area known for its zamindari ruins, traditional brass and bell-metal workshops, and the Jagannath Temple with its annual Rath Yatra. It offers a break from Dhaka's intensity but has limited sights: a half-day trip is enough.
