Go for one night if you want the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga; skip it in Sawan (Jun–Jul) when millions of pilgrims walk in and beds vanish.
Deoghar is a Shiva pilgrimage town in Jharkhand, built around the Baidyanath temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Most visitors come for darshan and leave; the surrounding hills and ashrams fill a second day. It is a working temple town, not a resort: expect crowds, simple food and cheap rooms.
