Port-Gentil
One full day and one night is enough to see the cathedral, hit Sogara Beach and eat grilled fish; longer only if you have a lodge booking in Loango or a work reason.
Port-Gentil is Gabon's oil-and-port hub on an island cut off from the mainland by the Ogooué delta. There is no road to Libreville — you fly or take a ferry. The town itself has a cathedral, a beach and a handful of restaurants. Most travellers use it as a transit point for Loango National Park or a work stop. One night covers the essentials.
