Base in Gdańsk and give Sopot one full day: pier, Monciak, beach, back by SKM in 25 min. Sleep here only for spa hotels or a beach-first weekend.
Sopot is the smallest of the Tricity and the most leisure-focused: a 19th-century spa town of about 37,000 people wedged between Gdańsk and Gdynia, with a wooden pier, a pedestrian street and a sandy beach. It is compact and walkable — station to pier is about 20 minutes on foot — and the SKM commuter rail links it to both bigger neighbours in under half an hour. Most travellers see it as a day trip from Gdańsk; those who stay come for the beach, the spa hotels and the nightlife on Monciak.

Getting around
Sopot has no transport of its own. Walk: the town is about 4 km across and station to pier is roughly 20 minutes. The SKM commuter rail has three stops in Sopot (Główny, Wyścigi, Kamienny Potok) and runs to Gdańsk and Gdynia at high frequency; Gdańsk and Gdynia buses and trolleybuses also reach in. Bikes and the Tricity Landscape Park trails cover longer trips.
