OmodosΌμοδος

Omodos is a half-day stop on a Troodos wine loop: see the monastery, taste at a winery and eat meze. One night only if you want a quiet evening in the hills.

Omodos is a small wine village 40 km north of Limassol, known for its Monastery of the Holy Cross, traditional tavernas and a handful of wineries. The village is compact and walkable; most visitors combine it with Platres, Troodos Square or Agros in a day trip by car.

Getting around

Omodos is small enough to explore on foot. The main square, monastery and tavernas are a few minutes' walk from the car park. Roads in the village are steep and narrow; park at the designated lot at the edge.

Watch out

Safety

Omodos is a safe village. The main risks are narrow roads and uneven cobblestones; watch your step after dark.
  • Driving into the village centre is tight; use the car park at the edge.
  • Wineries may require advance booking for tours, especially outside summer.
  • Restaurants close earlier than on the coast; check opening hours in winter.
