Irvington is a small Hudson River village in Westchester County, about 30 minutes by express train from Grand Central. It has a walkable Main Street, a riverfront park and a stretch of the Old Croton Aqueduct trail, but no overnight lodging inside the village. Treat it as a half-day stop or a lunch-and-walk break between Tarrytown and Dobbs Ferry, and sleep in a neighbouring town.

The village centre is walkable: Main Street, the station and Scenic Hudson Park are within about 15 minutes on foot. Metro-North Hudson line serves Irvington station; buy tickets at the station or machine, as on-board fares carry a surcharge. Bee-Line buses connect to White Plains and other county towns. A car helps for the aqueduct trailheads and neighbouring villages.
