Seal Beach is a small Orange County beach town between Long Beach and Huntington Beach, built around a wooden pier, 1.5 mi of sand and a four-block Main Street of bars, cafés and shops. It is a half-day-to-one-day stop, not a sightseeing city: the beach, the pier and the wetlands tour are the whole list. Most travellers come for a day from Long Beach or Huntington Beach, or sleep one night to be near Long Beach Airport.

Walk. Main Street runs straight onto the pier and the beach is on the same axis, so a car is only for arrivals, day trips and groceries. Parking near Main Street fills on summer weekends; the lots off Ocean Avenue and near the pier are the fallback. Regional buses and ride-hail cover the short hops to Long Beach and Huntington Beach.
