Kangasala is a ridge-and-lake town 30 minutes east of Tampere, known across Finland from a 19th-century poem about its harju views. The sights are small, spread out and mostly outdoors: two car museums, several free observation towers, a spa-style public pool and a 60 km hiking route. One full day covers the best of it; a car or a bike makes the day much better than buses alone.
