Humboldt
Stop for one night if you are driving Highway 5 between Saskatoon and Yorkton; skip it as a destination on its own.
Humboldt is a small prairie city of about 5,700 people in east-central Saskatchewan, roughly 115 km east of Saskatoon on Highway 5. It is a service town for a farming district of about 30,000, with a German-settler heritage, a handful of small museums and a walkable Main Street. There is no scheduled bus or commercial air service, so you need a car. Most travellers use it as a one-night break on a prairie drive, not as a base.
