Panguitch is a small Mormon-founded town of about 1,600 people on US-89 in Utah's Canyon Country, 37 km from Bryce Canyon National Park. It works as a cheaper, quieter bed base for Bryce and the Grand Circle than the park lodges or Bryce Canyon City. Downtown is one preserved frontier block; the rest is motels, a grocery store and a grid of streets. Two nights covers Bryce properly; one night is enough if you are only passing through.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- United States ↗Check whether you need an ESTA (Visa Waiver Program) or a visa on the official CBP and State Department sites; apply only through esta.cbp.dhs.gov, not third-party sites, and allow time before you book.
- United States ↗Several popular national parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in peak season; check each park's page on nps.gov and book on recreation.gov before fixing your dates.
- United States ↗Medical care is very expensive for visitors; buy travel insurance with high medical cover before you fly.
- United States ↗Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at sit-down restaurants and bars, and a tip for taxis, hotel staff and guides.

Getting around
You need a car. The town is a simple grid: Main Street runs north–south and carries US-89, Center Street runs east–west. Everything in town is a 5–15 minute walk from the motel strip. Bryce Canyon is 37 km south on US-89 then UT-63; there is no useful public transport to the park.

Main Street (US-89) motel strip
Most motels sit on North Main; walkable to dinner and the grocery store. Book ahead May–Sep.
Center Street east of Main
Chain motel and a few newer rooms; quieter, still a short walk to downtown.
Bryce Canyon City / park lodges
Closer to the rim but pricier and books out months ahead; use Panguitch as the fallback.

Safety
- No public transport to Bryce Canyon: without a car you are stuck.

- Cell coverage is patchy on the drive to Bryce and in Dixie National Forest.
- Many restaurants close on Sunday and shut early in winter: check before you arrive.
