Dziekanowice is a 395-person village in Wielkopolskie, 16 km west of Gniezno and 40 km east of Poznań, built around two attractions: the Greater Poland Ethnographic Park, one of Europe's largest open-air museums with 60-plus timber buildings, and Ostrów Lednicki island, the excavated seat of the first Piast dukes. Most travellers see both in a single day; the village itself has no hotel, only agritourism beds near the lake.
