Vlychada is a fishing village on Santorini's south coast, built around the island's largest marina and a black-sand beach under wind-carved cliffs. It has one minimarket, a handful of seafood tavernas and a tomato-factory museum, and it is markedly cheaper than Oia or Fira. Two nights covers the beach, the museum and a boat or horse trip; one night is enough if you are using it as a stop before Akrotiri or Perissa.

Getting around
The village is small enough to walk: marina to beach is about 10–15 min on foot. There is no direct bus from Fira or Perissa — take the Fira–Perissa bus and get off at Emporio, then walk downhill about 2.5 km (30 min). Water taxis from Akrotiri and Perissa run irregularly, so treat them as unavailable unless confirmed locally. A car, scooter or e-bike is the practical way to reach Akrotiri, Perissa and Fira.
