Sainte-Angèle-de-Prémont is a parish municipality in the Maskinongé Region (MRC de Maskinongé), Basse-Mauricie, Quebec, built around the Canadian Pacific Railway and the crossing of rue Lupien (Route 350) and rang Paul Lemay. Its economy is agriculture, forestry and resort; the draw for a visitor is the flat farmland, the small lakes (Rond, Lambert, Driver, Diane) and farm-gate food, not sights. Most travellers see it in half a day between Louiseville and Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, or use it as a quiet one-night stop.

Getting around

Car only. The village sits at the junction of rue Lupien (Route 350) and rang Paul Lemay; rang Waterloo and rang Augusta lead to the farms and lakes. There is no bus or train service. A Harnois mini grocery and gas station sits at 2300 rue Camirand, and an electric charging station at 2451 rue Camirand. Snowmobiles and ATVs are allowed on the trail network in season.

Safety

Very low crime; the real risks are highway 40 driving, winter ice, and moose or deer on the back rangs at dusk. 911 covers everything.
  • No public transport: without a car you are stuck.
  • Most farm stands and the vineyard are seasonal and cash-friendly; check hours before driving out.
  • Winter roads outside the village are plowed but icy; snow tires are required in Quebec in winter.
