Ulvila is one of Finland's six medieval towns, on the Kokemäki River just outside Pori. Its sights are small and spread out — a 1510 stone church, a rural old town, a ruined church and a 1771 ironworks — and most travellers see it as a half-day or a quiet overnight beside Pori. There is no rail station and no airport of its own.

Very safe. The real issues are practical: no train station, thin evening bus service and icy pavements in winter.
