Klungkung
Stop in Klungkung for a few hours (2–3 h) to see the palace, museum and Puputan monument; stay only if you need a night before heading to Candidasa or Padang Bai.
Klungkung is the historic capital of East Bali, a small town where the main sights cluster around a central crossroads. A half‑day covers the palace, museum, Puputan monument and a quick market visit. Overnight stays are rare; most travellers sleep in nearby beach towns.
