Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil is a farming and aviation municipality on the Richelieu River plain, 37 km east of Montréal off Highway 20. There is no old village to wander and no hotel strip: the draw is two golf courses, spring sugar shacks, a small airfield and a campground. Treat it as a half-day add-on to Beloeil or Mont-Saint-Hilaire, not a destination in itself.

No useful public transit inside the municipality: you need a car. Highway 20 runs along the north edge (Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street exit); Route 229 links to Beloeil and Mont-Saint-Hilaire. - Sugar shacks run only during sugaring season (roughly late February to April) and usually need a reservation.
- The airfield is a working general-aviation site, not a tourist attraction — ask before walking near the apron.
