Attock is a small district capital on the Indus, best known for the 16th-century Attock Fort and the old bridge that connects Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Most travellers pass through on the M-1 motorway. The city itself has limited sights, so it works as a quick leg-stretch or a short detour, not a base.
