Aaihaايحه

Half a day covers Aaiha: the Hasbani spring ruins, the 1st-century temple and the rock carvings are free and within walking distance.

Aaiha is a small Bekaa village on the Hasbani spring, the water that feeds the Jordan. Its draw is a cluster of free, unguarded ruins: a 1st-century temple, rock carvings and a seasonal wetland. Two to four hours is enough; sleep in Rashaya or Zahle if you want a base.

Watch out

Safety

A quiet village; the real risks are rough ground at the ruins, summer heat and mountain roads after rain. Read your government's Lebanon travel advice first.
  • The Hasbani spring is seasonal and can be dry by late summer.
  • No visitor facilities, no ticket office, no toilets: bring water and sun protection.
  • Check your government's Lebanon travel advice before you go.
