Skip Memari unless you have a specific reason to visit the 17th-century Amadpur Chowdhury Bari mansion; a half-day trip from Bardhaman is enough.
Memari is a small town on the Howrah–Bardhaman rail line, best known for the heritage Amadpur Chowdhury Bari mansion with its Mughal–local architecture and 360-year-old Durga Puja. There is little else for a traveller; most visitors come on a short detour from Bardhaman or as a stop on the way to Pandua.
