The walled Old City packs the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Al-Aqsa Compound / Dome of the Rock into four adjoining quarters, and access to each shifts with religious calendars and security conditions.

Public transport and most shops pause from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening for Shabbat, so plan around it rather than relying on it.
