Lençóis is a small colonial diamond town of about 9,000 people and the main base for Chapada Diamantina National Park. The town itself is walkable in an hour; the reason to come is the waterfalls, caves and table mountains around it, most of which need a car, a guide or a long hike. Three to four nights covers the town, the walking-distance pools and two or three guided days.
