Sanlúcar de Barrameda sits where the Guadalquivir meets the Atlantic, 44 km from Cádiz and part of the sherry triangle with Jerez and El Puerto de Santa María. It is a summer town: seafood and manzanilla on the Bajo de Guía, the beach horse races in August, and Doñana across the river. Two nights covers the centre and a Doñana crossing; three if you want a slow beach day.
