Lunglei, Mizoram's second-largest town, sits in the hills at about 1,200 m. It has a handful of viewpoints, a wildlife sanctuary and a local museum. Most travellers use it as a break between Aizawl and the southern parts of the state. The town itself is quiet; the appeal is the surrounding landscape and the chance to see everyday Mizo life.
