Moraira is a former fishing village in the Teulada-Moraira municipality on the Costa Blanca, between Calpe and Xàbia. It stayed low-rise while Benidorm went vertical, so it suits couples, families and long-stay visitors who want beaches, coves and seafood rice rather than clubs. There is no town bus service and no tram station in the town, so a car or taxi decides how much you see.

Getting around

There is no public transport inside Moraira. Walk the centre and the coastal path; for everything else use a car, taxi or bike. The nearest TRAM light-rail station is in Teulada, about 5 km inland, with no bus link to the beach — take a taxi. Autobuses Ifach runs the L3 to Calpe roughly twice a day.

Watch out

Safety

Moraira is a low-crime resort town; the real risks are summer sun and sea, unlit coastal paths at night, and rental cars broken into at beach car parks — leave nothing visible.
  • No town bus: without a car or taxi, beaches outside the centre are hard to reach.
  • The L3 bus to Calpe runs only about twice daily — check the timetable before you rely on it.
  • Summer parking near Platja de l'Ampolla fills early; arrive before mid-morning.
  • Rocky coves such as Cala de l'Andragó have no sand and uneven entry — wear shoes.
  • Many restaurants close one weekday and shut between lunch and dinner; book in July and August.
