D'Iberville
Base in Biloxi or Gulfport and use D'Iberville for a casino night and cheap chain hotels; on its own it is a half-day, not a stop.
D'Iberville is a small city on the north side of Biloxi Bay, part of the Gulfport–Biloxi metro and 10–15 minutes by car from Biloxi's beaches and casinos. It has one casino resort, a town clock square, chain dining and cheaper rooms than the beachfront. Almost everything worth seeing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast sits in Biloxi, Gulfport or Ocean Springs, so treat D'Iberville as a bed and a dinner stop, not a sightseeing base.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- United States ↗Check whether you need an ESTA (Visa Waiver Program) or a visa on the official CBP and State Department sites; apply only through esta.cbp.dhs.gov, not third-party sites, and allow time before you book.
- United States ↗Several popular national parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in peak season; check each park's page on nps.gov and book on recreation.gov before fixing your dates.
- United States ↗Medical care is very expensive for visitors; buy travel insurance with high medical cover before you fly.
- United States ↗Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at sit-down restaurants and bars, and a tip for taxis, hotel staff and guides.

Getting around
A car is close to essential: the city is spread along I-10, Highway 15 and Central Ave, and the beach, casinos and restaurants you came for are across the bay in Biloxi. Coast Transit Authority buses run fixed routes linking D'Iberville with Biloxi, Gulfport, Keesler and Ocean Springs, but frequencies are low and stops are sparse — check the current timetable before relying on them. Rideshare works for short hops to Biloxi; walking is only realistic within the casino and downtown blocks.

Scarlet Pearl and nearby chain hotels; walkable to the casino floor and restaurants, 5–10 min drive to Biloxi over the bay bridge.
I-10 and Highway 15 junction
Highway-side motels and extended-stay rooms with kitchens; cheapest beds, but you need a car for everything.
Downtown / Town Clock area
Small, quiet and central to the city's own shops and cafés; few rooms, so book ahead in summer.

Watch out
Safety
- Hurricane season runs Jun–Nov; know your hotel's evacuation and refund policy before you book a summer trip.
- Summer heat and humidity are severe — plan indoor or early-morning activity in Jul and Aug.
- Casino floors are 21+ with photo ID; keep to a set budget and skip the ATM.
- Outside the casino strip and downtown, pavements are patchy and lighting is poor at night: drive, don't walk.
- Prices are shown before Mississippi sales tax, so the bill is higher than the menu.
