Louisiana splits into two trips. Greater New Orleans is walkable, car-free and dense with food and music. Everything else — Cajun prairie, bayous, plantations, north Louisiana — is a driving trip on rough rural roads. Pick one, or give the state 7+ nights and do both with a car picked up after New Orleans.
