Downtown is walkable and the flat Portage Hike & Bike Trail runs west toward Towner's Woods and Kent. PARTA buses link Ravenna and Kent roughly every 45 minutes, about 06:00–22:00, Monday–Saturday. A car is needed for West Branch State Park, the drive-in and the antique mall.

Ravenna is a quiet small town; the real risks are winter ice on I-76 and SR-5, thin lighting outside downtown, and driving after a night on Main Street — use a rideshare.
  • Outside downtown, pavements are patchy and lighting is thin: drive after dark.
  • Winter ice and lake-effect snow off Lake Erie can close I-76 and SR-5 quickly.
  • The drive-in and state park need a car — no useful bus service.
