Wellington is a small Front Range town of about 6,300 people on I-25, 10 miles north of Fort Collins and 30–40 minutes south of Cheyenne. It has a walkable old core, a handful of breweries and restaurants, and a disc golf course, but almost all of its value is as a cheaper, quieter base for Fort Collins and the northern Front Range. You need a car: there is no airport and no direct intercity bus.

Getting around
A car is the practical default: I-25 runs north–south through town and CO-1 comes in from the west. In the old core, numbered streets run north–south and increase eastward (6th St is closer to I-25 than 4th), while named streets (Cleveland Ave, Jefferson St, Hamilton Rd) run west–east. Taxis come from Fort Collins and can be sparse at night; Uber and Lyft cover the town, and there is a local ride-hailing option, ZTrip.
