Ecatepec is a 1.6-million-person suburb on the north edge of Mexico City, in Mexico State rather than CDMX. It has three Metro Line B stations, two Mexibús lines and the Tren Suburbano, plus the closest beds to Felipe Ángeles airport (NLU). Sights are thin: a regional museum, a modern cathedral and a state park. Most travellers pass through, or use it for one airport night.
