Guyra
One night, not two: see the Big Lamb and the museums, drive to Mother of Ducks Lagoon, then push on to Armidale or Glen Innes.
Guyra is a small New England highway town of about 2,000 people, 38 km north of Armidale and 61 km south of Glen Innes on the A15. It is a stop, not a base: the sights are a handful of small museums, a lagoon nature reserve and a big concrete lamb, and you need a car for everything outside Bradley Street. Most travellers pass through in an afternoon or sleep one night on the Armidale–Glen Innes run.
