Glen Innes is a small New England town on the junction of the New England and Gwydir highways, halfway between Armidale and Tenterfield. It works as a one-night stop on a driving trip, with a Celtic monument, a district museum and a set of granite-country national parks 50–80 km east that reward a second night if you have a car.
