Ussuriysk is a Trans-Siberian junction town in Primorsky Krai, about 1.5–2 h by bus or train from Vladivostok. Its draw is a preserved late-19th and early-20th century downtown, a Jurchen-era carved turtle, and a Korean cultural centre. Most travellers pass through; one night is enough, and the city works as a cheaper base for the Ussuri Nature Reserve.

Central Ussuriysk is calm by day and walkable after dark. The main practical risks are long taxi transfers from the station, hot buses in summer, and winter cold. Follow your government's Russia advice.
