Bielsko-Biała
Give it one full day plus a night: castle, Rynek and a cable-car run to Szyndzielnia. Two nights if you want the Beskid trails.
Bielsko-Biała is a former textile town of about 165,000 people at the foot of the Beskid mountains, 70–80 km from both Katowice and Kraków airports. The centre is compact and walkable, the castle and Rynek fill half a day, and the Szyndzielnia cable car puts real mountain walking within a bus ride. Most travellers use it as a one- or two-night stop between Katowice and the mountain resorts, not as a long base.

Getting around
The centre is walkable end to end in about 20 minutes. MZK buses cover the rest: in 2025 a single ride was 5 zł (2.5 zł reduced), a one-hour ticket 6 zł and a 24-hour ticket 17 zł. Buy from a kiosk and validate on first boarding. Bus 8 runs to the Szyndzielnia cable-car base station. Taxis wait at the station; agree the fare or check the meter.
