Nanton
Give Nanton 2–3 hours on a Highway 2 drive south of Calgary: the Bomber Command Museum and the antique walk, then move on. Sleep only if you want a slow small-town night.
Nanton is a town of about 2,100 people 45 minutes south of Calgary on Highway 2, built on farming, ranching and a spring-water business. Its draw is a compact historic main street packed with antiques and two small museums, one of which holds a WWII Lancaster bomber. It is a half-day stop on the Calgary–Lethbridge run, not a destination in itself.
