Nanton

Nanton is a town of about 2,100 people 45 minutes south of Calgary on Highway 2, built on farming, ranching and a spring-water business. Its draw is a compact historic main street packed with antiques and two small museums, one of which holds a WWII Lancaster bomber. It is a half-day stop on the Calgary–Lethbridge run, not a destination in itself.

Get around
Nanton is compact and walkable. Highway 2 splits into two parallel one-way streets through town, and the historic business district sits between them, so park once and walk. A car is needed to reach the Coutts Centre and the golf course outside town.
