Ondo City is the second city of Ondo State and the trade town for the cocoa and yam belt around it, about 45 minutes by road from Akure. It is a Yoruba kingdom town with a working palace, a big traditional market and a bridal-dance festival, not a resort. Come for a day of markets and history, sleep one night, and move on to Akure, Owo or Idanre.
