Grimshaw is a town of about 2,700 people in the Peace Country of northwestern Alberta and the mile-zero marker of the Mackenzie Highway, the road that runs north toward the Northwest Territories. It is a farming and distribution centre, not a sightseeing town. Most travellers pass through on Highway 2 between Grande Prairie and Peace River, or stop one night on the long drive north. The worthwhile stops are small: the Mile Zero monument and arboretum, the Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village Museum, and the lakes and trails just outside town.
