Give Constanța one full day for the old town and casino, then move to Mamaia or the southern resorts for the beach; two nights is enough.
Constanța is Romania's oldest attested city and the Black Sea's largest port, with a compact old town on a peninsula: Roman mosaic, a mosque, museums and the restored Art Nouveau casino. Most travellers use it as a one- or two-night stop before the beach resorts of Mamaia and Vama Veche, or as a gateway to the Danube Delta.

The old town is walkable end to end in under an hour. Buses and maxi-taxis cover the rest; pay the driver or buy a ticket at a kiosk and validate it. Taxis must be yellow with the tariff on the door — walk 100 m from the station before hailing one.

Safety
- Only yellow taxis with the fare posted on the driver's door are legal; refuse any cab quoting more than about €10 (≈ US$12) to Mamaia.
- The casino building has been closed for long restoration; check before planning a visit inside.
- Summer weekends fill Mamaia and the station area — book beds ahead in Jul–Aug.
- The Black Sea has no passenger ferry links to other countries; boats here are private or tour craft.
