KGFKolar Gold Fields
KGF is a half-day stop for mining history and old British bungalows, not a base. One night only if you want to see the gold rigs and the church at a relaxed pace.
KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) is a former gold-mining town in Karnataka, about 100 km from Bangalore. Its main draws are the old mining rigs, colonial-era bungalows and a beautiful British-era church. Most visitors pass through on a day trip from Bangalore or as a short detour en route to other parts of southeastern Karnataka. The town is compact and can be seen in a few hours.
